The first one of these I never see around so I feel it's rare. The second one is common but it sounds fantastic. I like these shows a lot but I'm partial because I was there. Hope you like them too.

This first one 11-25-88 is ripped from a cassette I have had since around 1989. It's not the best quality but I have not seen this anywhere else and it s a soundboard source. It has drop outs in the first song but improves after that.

Jerry Garcia Band, 12-31-75

1975 was the year that the Grateful Dead took off to re-group. The overhead of hauling around the "wall of sound" along with some mismanagment left them in financial trouble. As a result they only played four shows in 1975 and all four were in San Francisco. That year they spent a lot of time in the studio making the Blues For Allah album. Since there were not all the normal shows Jerry Garcia filled his time playing Jerry Garcia Band shows. Here is the New Years show from that year.

For years I just had the acoustic set with two songs of the electric set. I have had this for years and have never seen the rest surface. But I have now the whole show along with covers. I'm very pleased because I was blessed to be at this show.

Jerry Garcia and David Grisman, May 1992

Jerry Garcia was always doing side projects along with the Grateful Dead. He had a love for bluegrass music and this while not really bluegrass came from that love. This tape is a mix tape of the 5 night Garcia and Grisman run (May 7 - May 11, 1992). The tape was given to David Gans by David Grisman for Gan's Grateful Dead Hour program. The tape then somehow got out into circulation. This is a great sounding recording and is one of my favorites from this Garcia Grisman project.
