One of my all time favorites. The Allman Brothers Band have been playing their unique blend of music for over fourty years. This ia a great sounding ROIO, "Recording of Independent Origin" from the Dicky Betts years. It has some nice acoustic songs thrown in. Thanks azjones. I Think This Is One Show I Don't Have. I Was Just Remembering A Show I Saw Back In The Day, Triple Bill Southern Style! First Up The Outlaws. Next Up The Marshall Tucker Band, And Finally The Allman Brothers. This Is When Gregg Had Lost His Mind And Married Cher.Oh, What A Man Will Do For Love! I Had Backstage Passes And Cher Was Backstage. Gregg Played The Show With A Cast On His Wrist. Dickie Had On A Powder Blue Western Style Suit With A Powder Blue String Tie.And To Top Off The Outfit Powder Blue Cowboy Boots! It Was Quite A Site! He Didn't Say A Word To Gregg Or Cher The Whole Time Backstage.He Was Really Wasted And The Band Had To Stop The Show After About 20 Minutes! They All Left The Stage Because There Was Supposedly A "Sound Problem". When They Came Back On Stage After About 20 Minutes Dickie Just Went Off! He Played A 30 Minute Solo Of The Most Distorted/ CrazyFeedback/Unbelievable Hard Rock Guitar I Have Ever Heard. People Literally Had Their Mouths Open! He Could Barely Stand Up He Was So Wasted.Man,Those Where Some Crazy Times For The Allmans!
ReplyDeleteI Forgot The Funniest Thing About That Show Was When The Allman Brother's Roadies Tossed 20 Cases Of Softball Size Georgia Peaches Out To The Crowd. I Swear Those Were The Sweetest Peaches I Have Ever Tasted! I Wish I Had One Now!
