David Nelson is one of the founding members of the New Riders Of The Purple Sage. His roots in music go back to playing with Jerry Garcia before the Grateful Dead were formed. He also played in the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band. This San Francisco scene veteran is continuing to stretch the boundaries yet still blends in American roots music. Grateful Dead lyric writer Robert Hunter has also joined the team giving DNB even more credability and a further conection to the Grateful Deads music.
