Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers, 2-11-70

The Allman Brothers show was an official release but is now out of print so I'm puting an old bootleg copy on here to go with the well known Grateful Dead set that has the Allman Brothers and Peter Green as guests. If you dont have this you need to listen to the Spanish Jam with Garcia, Duane Allman, and Peter Green from Fleetwood Mac. Greg Allman sings on Lovelight with Pig Pen as well. This is a special show in my opinion.

  1. Thank you. I've been waiting for you to get a chance to post some Allmans w/Duane. The 2/70 Fillmore show should be rereleased and maybe expanded. Opening with 'Liz Reed 6 months before it was released! And the jam w/the Dead is a classic.

  2. Just recently found your blog. Loving the music and the stunning photos. On my copy of this show there an abrupt splice in Dark Star at 6:57. Is your show from the same source I wonder? Len

  3. The master soundboard recording from the vault has this cut, sorry to say. If it did not it would have been and official release by now for sure. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the swift and helpful reply. Such a shame that the master SBD has this cut, but I agree with you tht this is nevertheless a special show. I have just grabbed the two 1987 JGB shows with acoustic first sets that you posted. Brilliant. I suspect I'll be regular visitor here, and I approve fully of your no-official-releases policy. Len
